THE WINNERS OF UNIVERSITY ESSAY CONTEST ENTITLED “MY TUMANYAN” WERE AWARDED

On May 31, 2019, YSU Ijevan Branch hosted the awarding ceremony of the winners of the University Essays Contest  entitled “My Tumanyan”, initiated by Aida Sarhatyan, Associate Professor of the Department of Armenian Language and Literature.

The event was attended by the representatives of the administrative and professorial staff of Ijevan Branch of Yerevan State University, students of different specialties.

 An open speech was delivered by the Associate Professor of the Department of Armenian Language and Literature, PhD. A. Sarhatyan. She particularly put forward:  “Tumanyan is all Armenian poet and, he is ours, both lecturers of YSU Ijevan Branch and our students, who welcomed and hosted Tumanyan’s Anniversary with tremendous love … at the Tumanyan-150 Anniversary Conference.

  Students of different specialties of YSUIB Full-time and Part-time training systems introduced dozens of compositions, which were discussed in the departments and the 5 best works were selected.

 Mrs. Sarhatyan noted that Gohar Mkhitaryan, Arpine Beginyan (2nd year students), Vanuhi Harutyunyan, Ashkhen Virabyan (3rd year students), have written brilliant compositions about love of the Armenian poet, and introduced some beautiful parts from those works.

 Acting Director of Ijevan Branch of Yerevan State University, PhD, Associate Professor A.  V. Tsutsulyan welcomed the beautiful initiative of the Department of Armenian Language and Literature, emphasizing the importance of such events, congratulating the winners and awarding students with prizes.

 At the end of the event, acting head of the Department of Armenian Language and Literature, PhD V.  Avagyan conveyed his gratitude to Mrs. Sarhatatyan, the organizer of the competition and the participants for the warm and honest essays written with great inspiration, thanking the director for constant support and assuring that such events would be continuous.
