- International autumn school dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the foundation of Ijevan Branch of YSU
Dear students, within the framework of cooperation between the University of Salzburg (Austria), the Institute of Archeology and Ethnography of the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia and the Ijevan branch of YSU, the distance laboratory "Interdisciplinary Studies of Armenian Cultural Heritage" will be launched On September 19-23, 2024. Ijevan branch of YSU will organize an international autumn school for students, which will consist of lectures and field research activities.
The lectures will be held at Ijevan branch of YSU, and the field research works will be held at the famous monuments of Tavush. The activities of the fall school will be coordinated by the Director of the Christian Orient Research Institute of the University of Salzburg, Head of the Department of Armenology, Doctor, Professor Yasmin Dum-Tragut and the co-head of the distance laboratory "Interdisciplinary Studies of Armenian Cultural Heritage" Haykuhi Muradyan. Students from Austria will also participate in the school.
The aim of the autumn school is to acquaint students with some episodes of Tavush's history, the activities of spiritual structures, the methodology of researching historical events through the study of archival documents, and also to organize a walking tour by carrying out field research works.
Students who:
are students of the last bachelor's degree or the first and second year of the master's degree in humanitarian sciences at Ijevan branch of YSU,
are proficient in English (minimum A2 level),
are active and interested in the historical and cultural heritage of Tavush,
confident that they can handle the hike on foot.
Applicants who meet the above conditions must fill out the online application by August 25, with the mandatory submission of the "Motive for participation in the Fall School" (1-2 page definition).
Participation is free. At the end of the fall school, students will receive certificates.
