The Chair of General Economics

Since the Foundation of YSU Ijevan branch, three Faculties have been operating: “Theory of Economics and Distribution of Productive Forces”, head of Department, PhD V.  Manasyan, “Macroeconomics and Microeconomics”, head of department Y. Suvaryan, “Finance and Accounting”, head of department, PhD L. Badanyan(1992)

In 1996, the Department of “Finance and Accounting” was renamed Department of” Finance, Accounting and Statistics”, headed by PhD, Associate professor A. Sardaryan, and the Departments of “Theory of Economics and Distribution of productive forces” and “Macroeconomics and Microeconomics” were merged and formed the Department of “Theory of Economics” and “General Economics” headed by PhD V. Manasyan, then PhD V. Hovsepyan (2003).

In 2003, the Department of “Finance, Accounting and Statistics” was renamed “Financial Accounting”, headed by PhD associate professor G. Galstyan.

In 2007, the two departments were merged and formed the Department of “General Economics”, headed by PhD Associate professor V. E. Hovsepyan.

In 2012-2017, the Head of Department was PhD, Professor H. A. Marzpanyan.

The Department of “General Economics” organizes education for “Theory of Economics” specialty, but also serves other specialties of the branch.
