As part of the "Exhibition Technologies" course, the 4th-year students of the Faculty of Applied Arts of YSU IB, led by Associate Professor of the Department of Tourism Management and Culturology, art critic Levon Lachikyan, visited the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin.

They first examined with great interest the frescoes of the renovated and re-consecrated Mother Cathedral, gaining new knowledge about the first Christian cathedral.

Then our students were welcomed and hosted by the director of the “Vache and Tamar Manukyan” Matenadaran of Holy Etchmiadzin and the Publishing House of the Mother See, the venerable Father Ararat Poghosyan. The latter accompanied the university students to the Ruben Sevak and “Khrimyan” museums of the Mother See, where unique museum samples of church applied art are exhibited. It was certainly beneficial to get acquainted not only with paintings, sculptures, works of decorative and applied art, but also with the culture of their display and the various exhibition technologies used.

In that regard, the visit to the “Vache and Tamar Manukyan” Matenadaran of Holy Etchmiadzin was also interesting, where the dignified father presented the history of the foundation of the Matenadaran of Holy Etchmiadzin and the main areas of its activity to the students. At the end, he presented booklets published by the Mother See on the occasion of the Myron Blessing.
