Student Council

YSU IB Student Council is the representative, supreme self-governing elective body, that expresses the interests and rights of students, ensures the participation of students in the university management, promotes their educational, scientific, creative, physical, moral and spiritual development, and provides leisure and recreation time for students.

YSU IB Student Council is a non-political and non-partisan organization.

According to the decision of the YSU IB Scientific Council, the SC presidents of the faculties are the members of the Board of Directors of the faculty, and the SC president of the branch is the members of the Scientific Council of YSU IB.

Since 2012, the presidents of the YSU IB Student Council have been students of the Faculty of Economics: Nairi Chagharyan, Razmik Hovsepyan, Aren Avetisyan, Luiza Madatyan, students of the Faculty of Humanities: Iskuhi Shaghbatyan, Tigran Chibukhchyan, a student of the Faculty of Applied Arts Vardan Yeganyan, a student of the Faculty of Natural Sciences Garnik Khachatryan, student of the Faculty of Humanities Ernest Khanumyan.

Since 2023 the president of the Student Council has been  a student of the Faculty of Humanities, Davit Aleksanyan.

The highest body of the SC is the assembly, in which all delegates, presidents of faculty SCs, one authorized representative of the student scientific society, trade union participate with the right to vote.

During the period between the congresses, the work is managed by the presidency. The president represents the organization in the YSU Scientific Council, YSU IB Scientific Council, and other university circles. The candidacy of the vice president, responsible secretary is nominated from among the members of the presidency, and the presidents of the committee are approved by the presidency.

The other link of the structure is faculty student councils, which are formed through direct election. The number of members to be elected from each course is determined by delegates (one delegate per 10 students in each faculty).

The Student Council also consists of 6 standing committees and 1 affiliated club.
