On July 10, 2026, a meeting of the Academic Council was held at Ijevan branch of YSU under the chairmanship of A. Makaryan, Advisor to the Director of YSU IB.

The Academic Council meeting approved the bachelor's and master's educational programs, the number and size of nominal scholarships provided at the expense of YSU IB financial resources in the 2026-2027 academic year.

The results of the 2026 survey on the satisfaction of graduates with the education received at YSU IB, the list of admission specialties at YSU IB in 2027, the activities of the YSU IB SSS in the 2025-2026 academic year, the process of organizing the internship of YSU IB students, and issues related to monitoring the financial activities of the university were discussed.

Regarding the issue of approving the bachelor's and master's educational programs, A. Makaryan presented to the participants of the meeting the list of bachelor's and master's programs at YSU IB: 12 full-time studies in 2026-2030, 5 distance learning studies in 2026-2031, and 2026-2028. 2 master's degree educational programs and the changes made by the faculty councils, then the educational programs were approved at the session.

Guided by subparagraph 5 of paragraph 23 of the YSU IB Academic Council's Statute and subparagraph 5 of paragraph 4 of the YSU IB Academic Council's Rules of Procedure, as well as paragraph 35 of the Regulations on the Provision of Student Benefits, State and Intra-University Scholarships at YSU IB Academic Council, the Academic Council decided to approve the number and size of nominal scholarships provided at the YSU IB Academic Council at the expense of YSU IB Academic Council's financial resources in the 2026-2027 academic year.

A. Makaryan, Advisor to the Director of YSU IB Academic Council, reported on the results of the 2026 survey on the satisfaction of graduates with the education received at YSU IB Academic Council.

In particular, it was noted that the purpose of the survey conducted by the Department of Educational Reforms and Lecturer Training after the final attestation exams was to determine the satisfaction of graduates with the organization and implementation of the educational process at the branch, the organization of internships, the services and resources provided, the university environment, the current assessment system, the objectivity of assessment, etc.

The graduates of the 2025-2026 academic year of YSU IB mainly highlighted the following strengths of the branch:

  • effective teaching, high-quality education,

  • consistent, skilled, experienced, qualified, supportive teaching staff,

  • discipline, coordinated activities and management,

  • student-centered environment, active student life,

  • presence of a branch in the region, affordable and accessible education,

  • flexible discount system,

  • renewable and regularly updated material and technical resources,

  • availability of various educational programs, etc.

The following issues were mainly raised by the graduates:

  • the need to develop the ability to apply theoretical knowledge in practice,

  • the need to increase the level of foreign language proficiency,

  • increasing the number of hours allocated to practical components of courses,

  • excluding non-objective elements of assessment, etc.

In general, graduates rated their education received at YSU IB highly (average score: 4.5), 95% of them in the current education system and 99% in the distance learning system would recommend their relatives and friends to enroll in YSU Ijevan branch (these results are the highest for the last 5 years).

The Department of Educational Reforms and Lecturer Training will send the collected data and analyzes to the relevant departments in order to develop actions aimed at improving processes.

Guided by point 23 of the Charter of the Ijevan Branch of the Yerevan State University Foundation and point 4 of the Rules of Procedure of the YSU Academic Council, the YSU Academic Council decided to approve the preliminary list of admissions to the YSU Bachelor's and Master's educational programs (full-time, part-time) for the 2027-2028 academic year.

L. Blbulyan reported on the activities of the YSU SSS for the 2025-2026 academic year, presenting a number of educational and scientific events and initiatives implemented by the student body during the reporting period.

The members of the Academic Council considered that the SSS should attach importance to the organization of students' scientific research work in its activity program, organize student scientific sessions, series of reports, etc. more frequently, suggesting and emphasizing the support of representatives of the teaching staff and SSS faculty officials in this matter.

The activities of the Student Scientific Society of the YSU Ijevan Branch in the 2025-2026 academic year were assessed as satisfactory.

L. Beginyan, presenting a report on the process of organizing internships for students of the YSU IB, noted that during the 2025-2026 academic year, according to the working curricula of the bachelor's and master's programs, 38 internships were planned (10 in the 1st semester, 28 in the 2nd semester).

During the reporting period, the branch had 17 memorandums, 1 agreement and 29 contracts with various state and non-state organizations, institutions and enterprises for the organization of student internships.

The internships were organized in 6 educational programs. 104 students participated. Geographically, the city of Yerevan and 3 regions of the Republic of Armenia (Tavush, Gegharkunik, Kotayk) were included.

The pedagogical internships were organized in 2 schools that have contracts with the branch and 14 general education schools in Tavush region, which are the places of work. 74 students participated in the pedagogical internship.

Professional internships were carried out in 10 bachelor's and 2 master's educational programs, in group and non-group modes. 299 students participated.

After the completion of pedagogical and professional internships, the Department of Internship Organization and Cooperation with Stakeholders (POCS) organized a survey of external stakeholders to assess the professional preparation, pedagogical abilities and personal qualities of the intern students, as well as to identify possible areas for improvement. The department also conducted a student survey on professional internships, emphasizing students' assessments of the effectiveness of the organization of professional internships, the implementation of educational goals, the quality of cooperation and the acquisition of practical skills.

The results of the student survey show that the majority of students are satisfied with the organization of professional internships, and the difficulties were mainly of an individual nature. The assessments given coincide with the observations of external stakeholders, providing a comprehensive assessment of the effectiveness of the internship. The survey results are an important basis for the continuous organizational and methodological improvement of internship, the improvement of educational programs, and the further development of cooperation with employer organizations.

The Department of Academic Affairs will present the analysis of the results of external stakeholders and student surveys to the heads of professional departments and educational programs for their discussion and decision-making aimed at improving the educational process.

Chief Accountant M. Mkhitaryan reported on the results of monitoring the financial activities of YSU IB, presenting the performance of the 6-month budget of YSU IB for 2026 (from January to July 1 of this year).

At the meeting of the Academic Council, L. Beginyan's report was taken into account, and the financial activities of the branch were assessed as satisfactory.
