- The 1st stage of the 2025 School Olympiad organized by YSU took place
The Olympiad, which is an intellectual competition among university applicants, was planned to be held in general education subjects ("Mathematics", "Physics", "Chemistry", "Biology", "Geography", "Armenian History", "Armenian Language and Literature", "Russian Language", "English", "German", "French", "Informatics") and additional educational subjects ("History of the Armenian Church", "Logic", "Sociology", "State and Fundamentals of Law", "Ecology and Fundamentals of Sustainable Development", "Economics"). The Olympiad in the subject "Informatics" was planned to be held in one stage, on March 29. The Olympiad in additional educational subjects will be held in another stage at YSU on April 12.
This year, 137 students of 11th and 12th grades from 25 schools of Tavush region participated in the 1st stage of the Olympiad.
Vahan Aghababyan, the person responsible for organizing the Olympiad at the Ijevan branch of YSU, welcomed the participants, presented the procedure for holding the competition, and wished them success.
The winners of the I stage will participate in the II stage of the Olympiad, which will take place on April 12 at 11:00 at Yerevan State University.
By the decision of the YSU Academic Council, students who won the Olympiad in general education subjects (awarded I, II and III degree diplomas) will be provided with a 50, 40 and 30 percent discount on tuition fees in the first year, respectively, if they are admitted to the University's paid system.
Students who won the Olympiad in additional educational subjects will be given scholarships.
