Before the start of the new academic year, a meeting of the directorate was held at Ijevan branch of YSU, under A. Makaryan's presidency.

Along with the changes proposed by the members of the board, the annual work plan of the YSU IB directorate, office administration specialist job description of the faculty office of Ijevan branch of YSU were approved at the meeting. Preparations for the new 2024-2025 academic year, the results and problems of the existing teaching admissions for the 2024-25 academic year, questions related to the summation of the examination period of the existing bachelor's degree of the 2nd semester of the 2023-24 academic year and the examination period of the 2nd semester of the distance learning of the bachelor's and master's degree, the provision of nominal scholarships for the 1st semester of the 2024-25 academic year (Vazgen Sargsyan, Monte Melkonyan).

In relation to the preparations for the new 2024-2025 academic year, it was presented that the necessary work has been done in relation to the individual workload of the teaching staff, timetables, textbooks, the distribution of the classroom fund by courses and groups, etc. The approved class lists have been posted on YSU IB official website. The director also ordered to see that they were sent to the e-mail addresses of the professors. Accordingly, it was noted that the branch is ready for the new academic year.

Regarding the issue of the results and problems of the 2024-25 academic year, it was mentioned that 216 applicants applied to the branch in the given academic year, of which 182 were accepted (176 according to the results of the 1st stage competition, 6 applicants according to the results of the vacant competition). Compared to the previous year, the number of applicants admitted to the branch has increased by about 14% (160 / 182 applicants). All free places have been filled. In general, a positive dynamic is noticeable. The highest admission rates were recorded in the educational programs "Finance (by field)" (35 applicants), "English Language and Literature" (27), "History" (20). The indicators are worrying in the educational programs of "Psychology" (7 applicants), "Elementary Pedagogy and Methodology" (6 applicants), "Armenian Language and Literature" (5 applicants).

While summarizing the examination period of the 2nd semester of the 2023-24 academic year for the current bachelor and the 2nd semester of the distance learning of the bachelor and master's degree, it was noted that 481 students of the on-site education and 365 students of the off-site learning participated in the examination period of the 2nd semester of the 2023-2024 academic year. According to the results of the examination period, 14 students (1 from on-site education system and 13 from off-site education) are dismissed from the branch. 42 students have accumulated up to 12 credits of academic debt (1 on-site student, 41 off-site student). 18 students will repeat the course (6 on-site learning and 12 off-site learning).

In connection with the issue of providing nominal scholarships for the 1st semester of the 2024-25 school year (Vazgen Sargsyan, Monte Melkonyan), among the candidacies proposed by the faculties, Mariam Darbinyan, a 4th-year student of the "Russian Language and Literature" educational program of the Faculty of Humanities, was approved for the "Vazgen Sargsyan" nominal scholarship, the candidacy of Shushanik Mesropi Shahnazaryan, a 3rd-year student of the "Finance (by field)" educational program of the Faculty of Economics, for the "Monte Melkonyan" scholarship.

One of the current issues was the issue related to the working hours of employees in the internal disciplinary rules of YSU IB (new edition) approved by the decision of the Academic Council of YSU IB on May 4, 2024. It was emphasized that the working hours of the teaching staff and scientific workers of the YSU Ijevan branch are set between 9:15 and 19:00, keeping the workload of the day. The working hours for other branch employees is set from 9:00 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. from Tuesday to Friday, and on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.The period between 13.00 and 13.30 is defined as break time.

At the end of the session, acting director of YSU IB A. Makaryan congratulated the university members on the occasion of the start of the new academic year, wishing them a successful and productive academic year.
