On July 18, 2025, a workshop on "Critical thinking, fighting thought collapse and a classroom environment that is flourishing for everyone" was held at Ijevan branch of YSU, which was initiated by the Chair of Foreign Languages of YSU IB.

The workshop, aimed at professional development, was attended by lecturers teaching foreign languages (English, French) at YSU IB, students and graduates of the given specialty.

It was conducted by Kimberly Russo, a TEFL/TESOL certified teacher and volunteer of the US-based “Armenian Volunteer Network” (AMVN). She has over 10 years of teaching experience in Taiwan, Vietnam, Ukraine, Saudi Arabia, Peru, Guatemala and is known for her innovative methods and student-centered approaches to teaching English.

During the workshop, issues related to teaching English as a foreign language, student engagement in the classroom, developing their critical thinking, and overcoming intellectual and linguistic barriers were discussed.

The participants also received answers to their questions from Kimberly Russo.

At the end, the workshop participants thanked YSU IB partner organization AMVN for effective cooperation, and Kimberly Russo for working as a volunteer and transferring her rich knowledge and experience to Armenian specialists.
