- Our students are the winners of the 2024 "Best Student" Republican Competition
The YSU IB Academic Council had recommended Nazeli Yesayan, a 4th-year student of the "Russian Language and Literature" educational program of the Faculty of Humanities, and Sahak Gulakyan, a 4th-year student of the "Informatics and Applied Mathematics" educational program of the Faculty of Natural Sciences, to participate in the 2024 "Best Student" Republican Competition.
The goal of the latter is to encourage students of RA universities who have high performance and are actively involved in scientific research, creativity, student self-government and sports.
The competition for providing nominal scholarships to the best performing students of RA universities is held in two stages: intra-university and inter-university (republican), bachelor's and master's educational programs, according to the following fields:
1. natural sciences (including mathematical-information and communication technologies (ICT),
2. medicine,
3. humanities,
4. social sciences,
5. engineering (including architectural, agricultural),
6. culture-sports,
7. Armenian studies.
The first (intra-university) stage of the competition is organized by universities, the second (republican) stage is organized by the Ministry. The competition committee of the second stage of the competition determines the winners (1st, 2nd and 3rd places) in each field by December 10, based on the maximum number of points collected. The winners of the competition are awarded certificates and the RA State at the expense of the financial resources provided for by the budget with one-time nominal scholarships established by the Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Armenia.
According to the results of the competition, Sahak Gegham Gulakyan, a 4th-year student of the Bachelor's program "Informatics and Applied Mathematics" of the YSU IB, took 1st place in the second round of the 2024 competition for the provision of nominal scholarships to students with the best progress in educational institutions implementing higher professional educational programs of the Republic of Armenia, in the field of natural sciences, receiving a certificate and a monetary scholarship allocated from the state budget of the Republic of Armenia.
Nazeli Gariki Yesayan, a 4th-year student of the Bachelor's program "Russian Language and Literature" of the YSU IB, took 3rd place in the second round of the competition, in the field of humanities, receiving a certificate and a scholarship.
