- The winner of the YSU IB internal grant competition: re-evaluation of school construction and charitable traditions
The research focuses on the discovery of regional charitable traditions of the early 20th century, where the role of the charitable mission in the formation of educational systems and school construction occupies a key place. The project aims to comprehensively study the experience of the local branches of the ACCS (Dilijan, Caravansary, Sevkar) in the areas of founding schools, training teachers, and maintaining educational centers.
The author believes that this rich historical experience can serve as a practical guide for solving the problems of modern school construction and community consolidation.
The research results are highly relevant not only in terms of developing educational strategies, but also in terms of re-evaluating the mechanisms of assistance and social support provided to the Armenian population of Artsakh in the context of the forced displacement.
The project is also distinguished by its innovative methodology: it is planned to use artificial intelligence tools to restore and colorize historical photographs of the region, including images of old schools and cultural institutions.
450,000 AMD has been allocated for the implementation of the project, and the work will last 12 months. The research group includes two students of the YSU Faculty of Arts: Astghik Ellaryan and Lilit Tamrazyan. This will contribute to the professional growth of young scientists at the university.
The project plans to:
• publish two scientific articles,
• hold public open lectures,
• create publicly accessible videos and media content,
• develop proposals for the cultural policy strategy of the Ijevan community.
We congratulate Vladimir Poghosyan and his research group, wishing them fruitful scientific activity in the important task of shedding light on the history and charitable traditions of the region.
