This article is the result of Aspram’s research work, which was carried out during an open seminar organized within the framework of her academic exchange program at the University of Prešov, Slovakia. The seminar was held at the Institute of Russian Studies of the Faculty of Philosophy, under the leadership of Dr. Igor Tsiktula, who is a lecturer at the Matej Bel University in Banská Bystrica.

During the seminar, the participants reflected on the key stages of the creative path of the great Russian writer Ivan Sergeyevich Shmelyov, as well as his rich spiritual and philosophical heritage.

Within the framework of the discussions, special attention was paid to a number of important directions.

• The early period of creativity.

• Using the example of the novel "The Restaurant Man", the moral endurance of the main character, the idea of ​​human dignity and the author's deep perception of the inner world of man were studied in the context of the traditions of Russian classical literature of the 19th century.

• Reflection of historical tragedy.

• The collection "Cruel Days" was analyzed, which reflects the tragic pages of Russian history and the author's attitude towards historical upheavals.

• Spiritual and philosophical searches.

• Shmelyov's significant works "The Summer of the Lord" and "Heavenly Paths" were discussed, in which spiritual values, family traditions and national-cultural memory were particularly manifested.

Such international educational and scientific initiatives contribute not only to the deepening of knowledge about Russian literature and culture, but also create effective platforms for intercultural dialogue. They provide young researchers with the opportunity to present their scientific work to an international audience and make an important contribution to the preservation and development of cultural memory in the European humanitarian area.
