In 2026, YSU IB Educational and Methodological Department and the Educational Reforms and Quality Assurance Department have collected and analyzed the opinions and reports of the final attestation committees on the graduates of the on-site studies at YSU IB, the results of which are used to further improve the organization and implementation of the qualification awarding process.

In May, the final attestation of graduates of the 2025-26 academic year was carried out at the YSU Ijevan branch in 12 educational programs of 11 specialties: on May 16: "Tourism", "Elementary Pedagogy and Methodology", "Russian Language and Literature", on May 23: "Armenian Language and Literature", "Psychology", "Finance (by field)", "Design", "Decorative and Applied Arts", on May 30: "History", "Informatics and Applied Mathematics", "English and Literature", "French and Literature".

According to the chairmen of the committees, the 2026 final attestation process was organized and carried out at a high level by the leadership of the YSU IB, administrative departments and professional chairs, according to schedules, in accordance with the standards for graduation works in force.

The final attestation commission for the specialty “Foreign Language and Literature” (French and Literature, English and Literature educational programs) was chaired by Lilit Badalyan, PhD, Associate Professor, Head of the Department of English Communication of the “V. Bryusov State University” Foundation.

5 graduates participated in the final attestation of the “French and Literature” educational program and received “excellent”.

According to the chairman of the commission, the students demonstrated high knowledge of French and research skills. They mainly presented the results of the research properly, their speech was literate, and the presentation was clear.

In order to further improve the quality of training of specialists, the chairman proposed to present more modern topics within the framework of courses and graduation theses, including interdisciplinary research, pragmatics, and cognitive linguistics.

30 graduates participated in the final attestation of the “English and Literature” educational program. 10 received "excellent", 15 received "good", and 5 received "satisfactory".

According to the chairman of the committee, the defense of the final theses was carried out at the proper level. The graduates presented topical and interesting topics. It is obvious that the head of the department and lecturers carried out proper work with the students. The chairman considered it desirable that the department pay more attention to the development of students' theoretical knowledge and analytical thinking, taking into account the challenges of the widespread use of artificial intelligence tools.

He suggested that when choosing the topics of the final theses, students' abilities and language proficiency should also be taken into account. In order to further improve the general learning outcomes achieved by the graduates, it was suggested that linguistic interdisciplinary disciplines be introduced to the students in more depth.

The final attestation committee of the “Informatics and Applied Mathematics” educational program was chaired by Oleg Gasparyan, Professor of the Department of Management Systems of the “National Polytechnic University of Armenia” Foundation, Doctor of Technical Sciences.

23 graduates participated in the final attestation. 10 received "excellent", 11 - "good", 2 - "satisfactory".

The Chairman of the Commission noted that the graduation works mainly left a good impression. The level of the students was quite high. The works were presented in a competent professional language. In his opinion, in general, the topics of the graduation works were interesting and relevant, and were fully implemented. However, the titles of some works did not fully reflect the work done, which was much more meaningful and extensive.

All works contained software implementation of problem solutions using modern information technologies. However, in some cases, the works would have benefited if the implementation of the problems had been carried out using modern and appropriate software packages. According to the Chairman, the professional and general level of the graduates is quite high, and they are ready to engage in professional activities.

The final attestation commission of the “History” educational program was chaired by the Head of the Repatriates Integration Department of the Office of the Chief Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs of the Prime Minister’s Office of the Republic of Armenia, PhD, Associate Professor Hovhannes Aleksanyan.

15 graduates participated in the final attestation. 7 received “excellent”, 8 received “good”.

According to the chairman of the commission, the defense of the graduation theses was organized properly, in accordance with the requirements. They had a certain scientific novelty, the problems posed were studied and analyzed. The graduation theses were compiled on the basis of using professional literature, analyzing them, which demonstrates the development of students’ abilities. The works were presented properly, in a slide show, in a competent speech, however, continuous work on improving oral speech is desirable for self-confidence.

The chairman proposed the following in order to further improve the quality of training of specialists:

• regularly pay attention to oral speech,

• encourage students' willingness to ask questions,

• actively use didactic materials,

• make suggestions during presentations, do not limit yourself exclusively to conclusions.

The final attestation commission for the "Decorative and Applied Arts" and "Design" educational programs was headed by Tigran Sosoyan, associate professor of the Design Department of the "National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia" Foundation.

7 graduates participated in the final attestation of the "Decorative and Applied Arts" educational program and received "excellent".

The chairman of the commission emphasized his surprise and joy that decorative and applied arts have such great successes in the Ijevan branch of YSU. According to him, the students' works, with their high taste and professional skills, were at an excellent performance level, and this, of course, speaks of the high quality of the teaching staff. The topics were relevant, they were written competently.

In order to further improve the quality of training of specialists, the President proposed to deepen and increase the work of decorative and applied art ceramics, which are both in demand and have a wide range of applications.

In order to further improve the general learning outcomes achieved by graduates, it was proposed to continue the chosen path, and the final works should also be examples of the applied field.

6 graduates participated in the final certification of the “Design” educational program. 5 received “excellent”, 1 received “good”.

The Chairman of the Commission noted that in general, interesting works were presented, large-scale buildings were selected, which were difficult for students. He considered it advisable to choose smaller areas, not to be afraid of contrasting colors in color solutions. He emphasized the possibility of presenting one's own solutions for furniture and other elements used in the interior.

In order to further improve the general learning outcomes achieved by graduates, the President proposed to choose smaller-scale works.

In order to further improve the general learning outcomes of the graduates, the President suggested directing them to the most applied field.

The final attestation commission of the “Psychology” educational program was headed by the Deputy Director for Research of the International Scientific and Educational Center of the NAS RA, Doctor of Sciences, Professor Naira Hakobyan.

9 graduates participated in the final attestation. 8 received “excellent”, 1 received “satisfactory”.

The Chairman of the Commission noted that the defense of the final theses was organized properly. The topics of the works were characterized by modern and urgent research. They fully met the requirements.

The students possessed the skills and abilities to conduct research, oral speech, which made an impression and presented solid results.

The efforts of the teaching staff in terms of preparing the final theses and presenting the final results were outstanding. The President suggested that the technical requirements be followed more carefully during the implementation of the final theses.

The final attestation commission of the “Armenian Language and Literature” educational program was headed by the President of the Pan-Armenian Writers’ Union, PhD, Associate Professor Abgar Apinyan.

7 graduates participated in the final attestation and received “excellent”.

The Chairman of the Commission considered the work being done at the university to be admirable and emphasized the importance of using various mechanisms to encourage young personnel so that good graduates of the university (all without exception) have the opportunity to find work in their specialty.

In the direction of selecting the topics of the final theses and further improving their implementation by graduates, the President considered it important to combine linguistic and literary knowledge.

In order to further improve the general results of the graduates' studies, it was proposed to develop and apply the knowledge acquired in the relevant specialty at the next level, in the master's degree.

The final attestation commission of the "Russian Language and Literature" educational program was chaired by the Head of the Department of Russian Language and Teaching Methods of the Armenian State Pedagogical University named after Kh. Abovyan, Doctor of Philosophy, Associate Professor Naira Dalyan.

12 graduates participated in the final attestation. 7 received "excellent", 4 - "good", 1 - "satisfactory".

In connection with the selection of topics for graduation works, it was proposed to choose modern topics with a methodological and pedagogical orientation. In order to further improve the quality of training of specialists, the chairman of the commission proposed to continue research work, guided by the principles of modern methodology and practice, to use the latest scientific literature, and to pay more attention to technical shortcomings. For further improvement of the general learning outcomes of the graduates, he suggested using the knowledge gained in the framework of future work as a teacher.

The final attestation commission of the “Elementary Pedagogy and Methodology” educational program was headed by Associate Professor of the Department of Pedagogy of the Armenian State Pedagogical University named after Kh. Abovyan, PhD Greta Hakobyan.

14 graduates participated in the final attestation. 11 received “excellent”, 3 received “good”.

According to the chairman of the commission, the logical structure is preserved in the graduation works, creative solutions and research approaches to the identification and solution of the topic problem are noticeable, the research data are mainly reliable. For further improvement, it was considered advisable to preserve the logical connection of the research goal-problems-conclusions, the conclusions were constructive and reflected the main results of the research, and publications of recent years were used in some works. According to the President, although the selected topics were mostly relevant, it would be desirable to pay more attention to current trends in technological developments. It was also suggested to emphasize standards-based approaches, deeply study subject programs, and develop practical materials based on general education resources.

The final attestation commission of the “Tourism” educational program was chaired by Smbat Davtyan, senior lecturer of the Department of Tourism and Service of the “V. Brusov State University” Foundation, candidate of technical sciences.

12 graduates participated in the final attestation. 3 received “excellent”, 9 received “good”.

According to the chairman of the commission, individual works contain unique solutions, innovative and research elements, comprehensive study and analysis of the identified problems. In order to further improve the implementation of graduation works, he proposed to go beyond the borders of Tavush region and study national problems, and to further improve the quality of training of specialists, he proposed to include a new subject in the curriculum: “Tourism Cartography and Geographic Information Systems”.
