- 40 kW solar photovoltaic system has been installed on the roof of the main building of the YSU Ijevan Branch
During the meeting, the Ijevan Branch of YSU presented its work in the fields of renewable energy and energy efficiency, specifically highlighting the experience of installing and operating a 40 kW solar photovoltaic system on the roof of its main building. Representatives of the branch presented the project implementation stages, the technical solutions employed, the procurement and installation processes, the organization of system operation and maintenance, and the key lessons learned during the project. Emphasis was placed on the importance of clear preliminary planning regarding work stages and timelines, the specification of technical requirements prior to procurement, and continuous cooperation among the client, the supplier, and the installation company.
As part of the meeting, representatives from various participating communities paid a study visit to the YSU Ijevan Branch, where they examined the solar photovoltaic system firsthand and learned about the experience of its implementation and operation. Technical issues related to the system's operation and the potential for applying the acquired experience to similar initiatives were also discussed during the visit. The initiative is being implemented within the framework of the "Sustainable Energy for Climate-Resilient Community Development in Armenia" (SE4Resilience) program, which is co-financed by the German government and the European Union and implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).
