On October 17–18, 2026, a discussion meeting and a workshop were held at Ijevan branch of Yerevan State University. Organized in collaboration with the Armenian Foundation of France and the French organization "Kinomé," the events focused on the conservation and restoration of the forests in the Tavush region, as well as the exploration of new opportunities for cooperation in the field of nature conservation.

On October 17, a discussion meeting took place, attended by M. Otaryan, Director of YSU Ijevan branch, representatives from the Armenian Foundation of France, and a representative from the organization "Kinomé." During the meeting, the participants discussed potential cooperation regarding forest conservation and sustainable development, as well as the university's role in the preservation of the forests and natural environment of the Tavush region. "Kinome" is a French organization specializing in forest conservation, ecosystem restoration, and the sustainable development of territories, integrating environmental protection with the well-being of local communities.

On October 18, a workshop was held, attended by students and lecturers from the Ijevan branch of Yerevan State University, as well as representatives from state institutions and local self-government bodies, including staff from the "Hayantar" (Armenian Forests) SNCO under the Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Armenia, the Eco-Patrol Service of the Ministry of Environment, Dilijan National Park, and the Ijevan Municipality.

The workshop combined theoretical and practical components, providing participants with the opportunity to share their experiences and ideas, and to discuss existing challenges in the field. Each of the participating organizations presented its role, ongoing activities, and key areas of work regarding the protection and conservation of the forests in Tavush.

During the meetings and the workshop, emphasis was placed on strengthening cooperation among various entities, developing joint initiatives aimed at the conservation and restoration of forest ecosystems, and effectively utilizing local potential.

The meetings and active discussions served as an important platform for exchanging experience, generating new ideas, and identifying opportunities for future collaboration; underscoring, once again, that the long-term preservation of Tavush’s forests requires collective effort, a coordinated approach, and the active involvement of local communities.
