On February 19th, 2019 marks the 150th Anniversary of the Birth of renowned poet Hovhannes Tumanyan.
Armenia celebrates the Book Giving Day since 2008 at the initiative of Levon Ananyan, the late chairman of Writers Union of Armenia and according to the decision of the Armenian government.
Book Giving Day is annually celebrated in Armenia on February 19. The holiday is now very popular in the country.
Giving books to each other already becomes a very good tradition in Armenia and naturally, Ijevan was not an exception.
Different events were organized to celebrate Book Giving Day in Ijevan (schools, Tavush regional library and elsewhere).
“The Union of Creative Youth” Non-Governmental organization, at the initiative of lecturers of YSUIB Department of General Mathematics and Natural Sciences Slavik Alaverdyan and Mary Amirzyan handed out books to young people on Ijevan’s central streets, most of them were YSUIB students.
