- The end-of-year extended session of the Academic Council was held at YSU IB
The agenda of the Academic Council meeting included the report of the director on the activities of YSU IB in the 2023-2024 academic year and the issues related to the implementation of the income and expenditure estimate (budget) for January-December 2024. In his report on the activities of YSU IB in the 2023-24 academic year, A. Makaryan particularly noted that in the 2023-24 academic year, the YSU Ijevan branch built its activities in accordance with the action plan for the implementation of the 2022-26 strategic development program.
The planned activities were aimed at ensuring the implementation of the branch's 3 strategic goals: high-quality education, science and innovation, and public engagement.
Within the framework of its action plan, YSU IB implements processes aimed at the modernization of the university, the development of digital platforms, active external and international cooperation, the development of new educational programs, a flexible scientific, methodological and personnel system.
The report was compiled based on the reports submitted by the faculties and other departments of the branch, the implementation of the work plans for the 2023-2024 academic year, the set of performance indicators for the evaluation of the branch's activities (GATS - 2019-2024).
The activities of the branch for the 2023-24 academic year were presented according to the following 9 sections: 1. Professional orientation and admission of applicants, 2. Educational programs, 3. Student success, 4. Third level of education, 5. Description of the academic staff and capacity development, 6. Scientific research activities and participation in funded scientific projects, 7. Cooperation with partners, 8. Graduates, 9. Infrastructure and conditions, and concluded with "Further work".

At the meeting of the Academic Council, A. Makaryan's report on the activities of the YSU IB in the 2023-2024 academic year was taken into account.
On the other issue, on the performance of the YSU IB 2024 income and expenditure estimate (budget) for January-December, the Chief Accountant of the YSU IB M. Mkhitaryan reported.
In particular, it was noted that the receipts (incomes) of the reporting financial year amounted to 400,009.5 million. AMD, and the expenditures (expenses) amounted to 467,039.1 million AMD. The balance from the previous financial year amounted to 77,890.0 million AMD.
61% of income (244,731.0 million AMD) is from paid training services, 23% (93,043.0 million AMD) is from state funding.
84.4% of the proceeds (394,109.0 million AMD) are “Remuneration and payments equal to it”. 1.6% of the proceeds (7,631.0 million AMD) were directed to student scholarships.
The report of the Chief Accountant on the January-December performance of the YSU IB 2024 income and expenditure estimate (budget) was taken into account.
The Rector of YSU Hovhannes Hovhannisyan made a speech at the session, thanking Mr. A. Makaryan for the detailed report on the activities of the YSU IB for the 2023-24 academic year.
Mr. Rector, presenting that On December 25, at the meeting of the YSU Board of Trustees, Mher Otaryan was elected the new director of the YSU IB. He thanked the former head of the YSU IB Anushavan Makaryan for his unwavering dedication, professionalism, high standards set in his work and his huge contribution to the development of the YSU IB and awarded him with the YSU Gold Medal.
H. Hovhannisyan congratulated the new director of the YSU IB Mher Otaryan, elected by the YSU Board of Trustees, noting that this responsible position entrusted to him is an important mission to contribute to the strengthening of the educational and scientific values of the YSU Ijevan branch, as well as the development of the community and the region.
Tavush Marz Governor Hayk Ghalumyan and other participants of the meeting also thanked Mr. Makaryan for his great contribution to the development of the university and wished Mr. Otaryan success.
The new director of the YSU IB M. Otaryan also thanked A. Makaryan for effective cooperation, and the YSU Board of Trustees for their trust, and noted that he will work with great responsibility and consistency.
