The meeting was attended by the Head of the Civil Defense department of YSU IB Civil Defense Union G. Gulakyan, branch employees, and students of various specialties.

During the discussion, accompanied by a presentation, the participants were explained what civil defense is. It was noted that it is a system of measures aimed at protecting the population and material assets and preparing for them. Civil defense is applied in the event of an armed attack on the country or an imminent threat of it, or in the event of a declaration of war.

The forms of civil defense (evacuation, shelter, provision with personal protective equipment), civil defense signals, defense structures, organization of evacuation in case of an air emergency, types of measures (preparatory and main), and services were presented.

It was emphasized that the task of the civil defense system is not only to protect the population and material values, but also to ensure the stable operation of certain sectors of the economy, especially facilities that ensure the vital activity of the population.

The students actively participated in the discussion and received answers to their questions from the employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Rescue Service.
