The meeting was attended by the Head of the Civil Defense Headquarters of YSU IB G. Gulakyan and students of various specialties.
The employees of Tavush Regional Rescue Department held a lesson-discussion for the students on the topics of "Civil Defense Issues", "Fire Safety Rules" and "Disaster Risk Management Plans".
First, the students were presented with a brief overview of the Rescuer's Day, its mission, the history of the creation of the Rescue Service and its activities. In particular, it was noted that September 4 is the Rescuer's Day.
Having passed a difficult path of decades since 1991, today we have an established, powerful rescue service, where the fire and rescue units are equipped with modern equipment and property.
In December 1992, Tavush Regional Rescue Department was established. Over time, having undergone numerous name changes, the essence of its work and the main principle remained the same - the organization of the protection of the population and material values in times of war and emergency situations.
Having been established in a difficult period for the state, having gone through time and trials, the Regional Rescue Department is now a solid structure, equipped with professional personnel, modern property and technical means, ready to provide assistance at any time and in any situation.
Then, the forms of civil defense (evacuation, shelter, provision with personal protective equipment), types of civil defense measures (preparatory and basic), and services were presented.
Reference was made to fire safety rules, technical means of fire extinguishing, and other recommended measures.
Natural disasters, measures to prevent them, and ways to protect themselves were discussed.
At the end of the meeting-discussion, the students received answers to their questions on the topic from the employees of Tavush Regional Rescue Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
