On October 18, 2025, the employees of the Center for Research on the Problems of Teaching History in Armenia and the Diaspora operating at the Kh. Abovyan ASPU visited the Ijevan branch of YSU; Head of the Department of World History and its teaching of the Kh. Abovyan ASPU, Doctor of Sciences, Professor Khachatur Stepanyan, Associate Professors of the same department Mikael Martirosyan and Arman Martirosyan, headed by the Head of the Center, Doctor of Sciences, Associate Professor Harutyun Papoyan.

The purpose of the visit was to conduct a training course and conduct research. In order to assess the problems of teaching history, they conducted a survey with history teachers from schools of Tavush marz (about 60 teachers).

In addition to the research, Kh. Abovyan ASPU Chair of World History and Its Teaching, PhD, Professor Khachatur Stepanyan conducted a training course for teachers on the topic “Project-based Learning in History Teaching”. Such trainings are useful for teachers, as project-based learning is now increasingly important in the general education process.

The training team emphasized the importance of active participation of teachers, which also provides an opportunity to improve training programs.

Representatives of the Center for Research on Problems of History Teaching in Armenia and the Diaspora expressed their gratitude to the Director of YSU Ijevan Branch M. Otaryan and the Acting Dean of the Faculty of Humanities N. Grigoryan for their support in the implementation of the research and training course and for their hospitality.
