Within the framework of the internship of 2018-2019 academic year, the first and second-year students of “Tourism” specialty of YSUIB accompanied by Alina Ulikhanyan and Levon Lachikyan, assistants of the Department of Tourism Management and Culturology, visited several places of interest of Armenia, different sites of Yerevan (historical and cultural sites: churches, monasteries, museums, natural monuments, tourism industry service companies, hotels, tourism  food companies, etc.).

During the internship, the students visited different destinations in Ijevan, Dilijan, Gyumri, Echmiadzin and Yerevan.  They first visited museums, hotels and guesthouses in Ijevan and Dilijan, Haghartsin complex and then visited other regions.

The visit to Shirak Region, Gyumri was of special interest for students. They had heard a lot about this unusual and strict Armenian town and now it was time to see it.  Students walked along the streets and squares of the city, got acquainted with historical monuments and then visited A. Isahakyan and H.  Shiraz home-museums.

Within the framework of the internship, the next tour Ijevan-Yerevan-Etchmiadzin-Zvartnots-Yerevan-Ijevan was carried out. Students got acquainted with Ejmiatsin and Yerevan tourism resources as well as participated in the Dolma Festival, held in the Zvartnots temple, which is recently one of the fastest-growing tourism events in Armenia.

The internship  gives students a special opportunity to perform their own research and tasks to collect, classify, analyze, combine and evaluate professional information, contributing to the deeper recognition of their country’s tourism resources, service sector, culture, history and geography.
