HAPPY 27TH ANNIVERSARY OF INDEPENDENCE OF THE REPUBLIC OF ARMENIA

They paid tribute, put flowers and wreaths on the monument in memory of perished freedom fighters in Ijevan.

3

The Primate of Tavush Diocese, Bagrat Galstanyan, delivered a congratulatory and blessing speech on Liberty Square, voiced the Lord’s and Peace Prayer.

4

Within the framework of the events dedicated to the 27th anniversary of RA independence, a festive ceremony and a concert were organized in the Ijevan Culture House.

In 1991, on September 21, the Supreme Council of the Republic of Armenia, according to the decision of March 1, held a referendum with the following question: “Do you agree the Republic of Armenia to be an independent democratic state?”.

The absolute majority of the voting-age population said “yes” to independence, agreeing that the country terminate its membership in the USSR.

Based on the historic document, Armenia was proclaimed an independent and sovereign country.

The third republic was established in the history of Armenia. The Armenian SSR was renamed to the Republic of Armenia. The flag was affirmed as a flag of the republic, and then the coat of arms was adopted.

After the declaration of RA independence by the Supreme Council, dozens of countries  recognized the Republic of Armenia.

The first was Lithuania, which till the declaration of independence already recognized the independence of the Republic of Armenia on August 14, and then during 1991, after the adoption of the declaration, another 47 states recognized the independence of the Republic of Armenia.

It was supposed that independence would open new opportunities for Armenia.

As a Republic, Armenia would already be able to establish its own diplomatic relations with different countries and conduct active policy.

Armenia has been trying to develop closer ties with foreign countries since independence.

Today Armenia is pursuing its own integration policy.

In 2014, Armenia officially became a member of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU). Now Armenia is trying to deepen the ties of cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran and Armenia hopes to build a bridge between Iran and the EEU.

One of the most important challenges facing Armenia is the recognition and condemnation of the Armenian Genocide in international courts.

The current issue of independent Armenia is the tension between the Armenian-Azerbaijani border and the Karabakh-Azerbaijani opposing forces, which is periodically under discussion in CSTO and is in the center of attention of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-chairs.

The greatest achievement of these years was the victory in the Artsakh war at the price of blood.

After the April four-day war, independent Armenia has shown that it has a powerful army and necessary military equipment to push the enemy at every moment.

5

In the history of independence, the constitutional reform bill and the transition from Presidential to Parliamentary Governance were of paramount importance.

Today, we, all Armenians, celebrate the Anniversary of our free and independent Republic.

6

Congratulations on your 27th Anniversary, Armenia.  May our independence be forever, let Armenian statehood become stronger, our state be powerful and prosperous, may Armenia become truly the country that the whole Armenians have dreamed of.

The head of the Department of Armenian language and literature, PhD, Associate Professor, V. Avagyan, associate dean of the Faculty of  Humanities, PhD, Associate Professor  V. Aghababyan, students of the faculty of Armenian language and literature, university staff, students, guests, poetry lovers were present at the event.

During the presentation, second and third year students of the faculty of Armenian language and literature performed recitation, song and their own analysis.

Mane Yeganyan started the event with the only poem of the collection about maternity

Գարուն էր դրսում,

Մայրս աշուն էր,

Բայց երգ էր հյուսում.

Երգը նախշուն էր:

Հայացքով անխոս

Թեքվել է հողին,

Չեմ ների մորս

Արցունք տվողին:

Then Astghik Ghazaryan and Lusine Melkumyan recited.

Throughout the event, Liana Yaralyan provided musical mood.

Armiada Baghiyan, a student of the same school, gave an analytical speech. Commenting on the title of the collection, she particularly mentioned: “… It is interesting. The stars are surrounded by darkness in the sky, but they shed light around them. These little lights symbolize love, while darkness symbolizes the difficulties and obstacles of life, and as the stars win darkness illuminating it, human love must fight against the difficulties of life, win and brighten our lives”.

Roza Melkoumian interrupted with a hint, remembering her and Susanna’s first meeting. “Several years ago, when I was studying at school, I went to the camp for a week in summer. We went to camp with 11 Tavush people on a blue bus. On the way we were informed that we should stop at the village of Hovk because one of the children is going to join us. We got to Hovk. There was a girl waiting for us … and the first one that grabbed me was the shining hair in the sun. ” Rosa confessed that she thought Susanna or, as she says, Susan is Russian. In the camp, Rosa got acquainted with Susanne’s poems, in the blue book.

Then Lusine Hakobyan made an analytical speech. According to her, Susanne’s writings were of impressionistic view, that is, ” based on subjective reactions of that moment, she has written what she has seen and felt.

Քամու հառաչ,

Լույս խավարած,

Ջրի կարկաչ,

Կանչող մի կանչ:

20180920_133030

Gohar Mkhitaryan first tried to find out the meaning of Susanne’s name. “White Water Lily”. Susanna is also a lilac, a delicate, simple, white fairy tale. Her writings remind of lilac mildness . Then she named what themes were prevalent in the collection: anticipation, contrast, illusions, struggle and love. Gohar spoke of possible literary influences that Susanna could have during writing.

“Along with reading this poem, Gohar emphasized,” Hamo Sahyan’s “I’ll come” poem is reborned in our minds. The aspirations are the same: to come back, whatever happens, as Sahyan would say, «Հազար կապով կապված, // Խաչով խաչված լինի. Is Susanna inspired by this poem, it is difficult to say, but there are poems, which, when reading, remind us of poems of the great Armenian writers of the past century. For example, this line.

Հոգնած գլուխս դնեմ քո ուսին

Ու հանգիստ քնեմ մինչև լուսաբաց,

Քեզ համար մնամ միշտ էլ սիրող կին

Ու քո գրկի մեջ ես լինեմ արբած:

In some ways, this is a reminder of the lines of ” Կուզեմ` հիմի փչե զուռնեն // Հարբած ըլիմ մինչև էգուց ” by Charents from the “Tagharan” collection. Love makes them dreamy and happy. “

Roza Tchagharyan spoke delightedly about her impressions. “… A very original, unique and profound poet. She has a rich saying, flexible idea. The writer of poems that can not be read without scratch. Sometimes even one word is so impressive that your body trembles and think how talented this girl is. “

IMG-20180922-WA0058[1]Beginning from the school director to Susanna’s mother, everyone expressed words of gratitude, they thanked one more time both organizers and students, Susanne, whose creative talent was the reason of this memorable occasion.

The university students returned from Hovk with warm and bright impressions, with the hope of meeting again on such interesting occasions.
