YSU IB "Green Ground" team in 2022 was one of the winning teams in the finals of the "Agro-Tech 2022" startup grant competition held in February, which consisted of students of the Faculty of Natural Sciences Movses Mardanyan, Garnik Khachatryan, Hasmik Stepanyan, a student of the Faculty of Economics Anahit Yesayan and a graduate of the same faculty, former secretary of the YSU IB Student Council and then (2022) Master's student Luiza Madatyan. The head of the team was associate professor of the chair of programming and information technologies of the Faculty of Natural Sciences of YSU IB, Robert Yolcyan. Before reaching the final, the team went through a 4-month incubation period, during which they got acquainted with the other competing groups with the nuances of running a startup that was still spreading at that time and the requirements to perform. The incubation period was organized and very interesting, and the acquired skills later provided a lot of experience and abilities for a successful performance in the finals. After winning the final, the team was rewarded with the latest technological and research equipment. In particular, chemical analyzers, professional drone and 3D printer, CNC and state-of-the-art laptops, solar power plant and other modern equipment were acquired. The type of equipment was chosen by the team based on the nature and subject matter of further scientific researches and scientific and technical developments in the faculty.
After the opening ceremony, Mr. Yolchyan presented to the participants the developments of the students within the program, as well as the planned works, during which the equipment provided and acquired within the grant programs of the branch will be used.
The formed technological base will allow to carry out more in-depth research in the direction of regional environmental problems in the Faculty of Natural Sciences in the future. The students of the faculty will be involved in this work, who are increasingly interested in programming, digital security, and solutions to applied problems in robotics.
