On December 6, 2024, an open volleyball championship was held at the Ijevan branch of YSU, which was aimed at popularizing sports in Tavush region, improving the sports skills of the participants, as well as strengthening school-university ties.
The teams of Sarigyugh (2 teams), Ijevan College, Achajri, Ijevan High School, and 3 teams from the Ijevan branch of YSU participated in the open championship.
The participants were welcomed by V. Poghosyan, a lecturer at the Department of Emergency Situations, Physical Education and Sports of YSU IB, who wished them success and fair competition, and a spectacular game to the audience.
The games were held according to the Olympic competition system, when the loser is eliminated from further competition.
The competing teams fought hard, demonstrating high skill and beautiful play.
The 1st team of Sarigyugh and the team of Ijevan branch of YSU reached the finals.
The 1st team of Sarigyugh won in a tough fight.
The team of Ijevan branch of YSU took second place.
The 2nd team of Sarigyugh took third place.
The teams that won prizes were awarded with cups, medals and certificates by the directorate of Ijevan branch of YSU.
