In connection with this issue, YSU Board of Trustees Chairman Suren Papikyan mentioned that one application was received by Mher Otaryan to participate in the pre-announced competition for filling the vacant position of YSU Ijevan branch director.

Mher Meruzhani Otaryan, Assistant Professor of the Department of General Economics of Ijevan Branch of YSU, Candidate of Economics, received his education at YSU and has been holding the position of Deputy Director of the YSU IB since 2021.

At the meeting of the Board of Trustees, M. Otaryan, presenting his program for the development of YSU IB, emphasized that Ijevan branch of YSU should continue to prepare high-quality scientific and pedagogical personnel for both Tavush region and the entire republic.

According to him, Ijevan branch of YSU is a regional educational center, and it is necessary to make the programs more flexible, and conduct the courses using innovative methods. "We need to develop material and technical and informational support, promote academic mobility, as well as expand scientific, educational and cultural ties with other educational institutions."

M. Otaryan emphasized that it is necessary to introduce a modern quality assurance control system. “Continuous improvement of the efficiency of the management system in conditions of limited resources is also of key importance.”

A counting committee was formed for the purpose of the election, and a closed, secret ballot was announced, as a result of which Mher Otaryan was elected director of Ijevan branch of YSU with a vote of 15 in favor and 2 against.
