On February 19, 2025, an exhibition-discussion was held in the library of the Ijevan branch of YSU, which was organized by the joint initiative of the YSU IB Library and the Faculty of Humanities. Representatives of the university's teaching staff and students of different faculties were present.

The head of the library, Vladimir Poghosyan, made an opening speech, noting in particular: “February 19, the birthday of Hovhannes Tumanyan, has been celebrated as Book Giving Day since 2008, on the initiative of the President of the Writers' Union Levon Ananyan and by the decision of the Government of the Republic of Armenia. This day is another occasion and opportunity to appreciate the book and the library, the book and the reader. Over time, the ideas, functions and significance of the book and the library have changed, but the significance of the book and printed means of knowledge transfer is inviolable, as evidenced by the expansion of the volume of printing and the public's attitude towards the modern book. Modernization trends do not bypass libraries and public spaces, and we must be ready to transform and adapt libraries to the new reader and their academic needs."

During the discussion, Professor of the Chair of Pedagogy and Psychology, Doctor of Sciences Vladimir Karapetyan also spoke, emphasizing in his speech that compared to the Soviet years, the library and its process, as well as the attitude towards the main source of knowledge, have changed, as technologies cross all territorial borders and provide the researcher with the opportunity to use various scientific databases, present his scientific product to the scientific community, receive indexing, and convey his thoughts and ideas to foreign scientists.

Grigoryan, the Acting Head of the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology, PhD, Associate Professor L.
