On May 2, a board meeting was held under the chairmanship of M. M. Otaryan at Ijevan branch of YSU.

The meeting discussed issues related to the organization of the 2nd current exams, tests and examination period of this semester, the summary of the previous semester's distance learning bachelor's and master's examination period, the holding of pre-defenses of the current graduation papers, student participation in the class process, the "YSU Olympiad 2025" in the Tavush region, the results of tuition discounts for students studying in the paid system, and the expulsion of students from the YSU IB.

The deans of the faculties and the Head of the Educational and Methodological Department A. Davtyan reported on the organization of the 2nd mid-term exams, tests and examination period for the 2nd semester of the 2024-2025 academic year. In particular, it was noted that the 2nd  mid-term exams, checks and tests of the 2nd semester of on-site and off-site learning will take place between May 27-31. The examination period for on-site and off-site learning will be held between June 3-21. The necessary preparatory work has been carried out, and the YSU Ijevan branch is ready for the implementation of the examination period.

When summing up the examination period for distance learning bachelor's and master's degrees for the 1st semester of the 2024-2025 academic year, it was noted that 461 (427 bachelor's and 34 master's) students participated in the examination period. According to the results of the examination period, 7 students are subject to expulsion, 22 students have accumulated academic debts of up to 12 credits, and 15 students will have to repeat the course.

Regarding the issue of conducting pre-defenses of the graduation paper, it was noted that according to the schedule, they are planned to be held from April 16 to May 3 of this year. The pre-defenses have mostly already been held, with the exception of two (one is in progress, and the other will be held on May 3). According to the results of the pre-defenses held, no cases of failure to guarantee the defense of the graduate theses by the professional chair were recorded.

Next, the student participation in the 2nd semester of the 2024-2025 academic year by course was presented. Special attention was paid to those courses in which there were students who had exceeded the permissible limit of absences and received reprimands. The Director instructed the Educational and Methodological Department and deans to be consistent in ensuring that students comply with the internal disciplinary rules of the YSU IB.

The YSU IB responsible for this process, V. Aghababyan, reported on the issue of holding annual Olympiads in various general education subjects for students of secondary school grades of Tavush region schools jointly with YSU. In particular, it was noted that on March 29, 2025, the YSU Ijevan branch held the 1st stage of the 2025 School Olympiad jointly with YSU at Spartak Sargsyan Primary School No. 1 in Ijevan.

This year, 137 students from 11th and 12th grades from 25 schools in general education institutions of Tavush region participated in the Olympiad in 11 subjects. Of these, 45 students from 16 schools passed the I stage.

The II stage of the Olympiad took place on April 12 at Yerevan State University. The participants from Tavush region performed successfully, and 3 students received a I degree diploma, 3 students received a II degree diploma, and 2 students received a certificate of merit.

Regarding the results of tuition fee discounts for students studying in the paid education system, it was noted that in the 2nd semester of the 2024-25 academic year, 74 students of full-time study at YSU IB received tuition fee reimbursement (28 based on applications addressed to the YSU Mandate Committee, 30 based on applications addressed to the director, 16 based on university funds).

39 students of distance learning at YSU IB received tuition fee reimbursement (20 based on applications addressed to the YSU IB Mandate Committee, 19 based on applications addressed to the director).

In general, this semester, partial reimbursement of tuition fees for students of the YSU IB was implemented in the on-site education system in the amount of 7 million 47 thousand 5 hundred AMD, and in the distance education system - in the amount of 2 million 343 thousand 800 thousand AMD.

The current issue regarding the expulsion of students from the branch, it was noted that 1 student of the Faculty of Humanities is subject to expulsion from the YSU IB for violating the internal disciplinary rules of the YSU IB, in particular, due to exceeding the permissible limit of absences. 7 students of the Faculty of Economics are subject to expulsion from the branch due to insufficient academic progress demonstrated in the examination period of the 1st semester of the 2024-25 academic year. The presented students were expelled from the YSU Ijevan branch.

Regarding the other current issue, it was noted that 1 graduate of the current education system of the YSU Ijevan branch in 2023 applied to invalidate his damaged diploma and provide a duplicate. Based on the orders of the YSU Rector “On the rates and terms of providing additional services and documents by YSU”, as well as “On approving the procedure for issuing a duplicate of the YSU diploma”, it was decided to invalidate the previous diploma of the YSU IB graduate and allow the provision of a duplicate.
