On May 22, 2025, specialists of the Humanitarian Demining and Expertise Center E. Melkonyan, O. Gabrielyan, M. Mkhitaryan and E. Gevorgyan held a meeting-discussion on the awareness of the dangers of explosive ordnance at Ijevan branch of YSU, in which members of the administrative and teaching staff of the university and students participated.
The goal of the awareness-raising was to raise the level of awareness of the meeting participants, to familiarize them with the dangers posed by explosive ordnance and mines, and the rules for demonstrating correct behavior in case of encountering them.
During the meeting, it was presented that according to statistical data, one person in the world suffers from mines and explosive ordnance every minute, 30% of the total victims are children. The number of citizens injured in peacetime in the Republic of Armenia is 808. It was emphasized that in this context it is extremely important to constantly activate the work carried out to raise awareness of explosive ordnance. Knowledge of safety rules is a guarantee of citizens' safety.
At the end of the meeting, the participants received answers to their questions from specialists of the Humanitarian Demining and Expertise Center.
