The results of the program have already been summarized, according to which the project was approved by the LDF of the GIZ Armenia office. The total budget of the program is 39 900 000 AMD.

The goal of this program is to increase the level of energy efficiency in different settlements of Ijevan community and contribute to the systematic introduction of the use of renewable energy sources in the community. It is aimed at solving two problems at the same time: development and modernization of infrastructure and capacity building and awareness among the community population.

The infrastructure part of the project will be implemented in three settlements of the enlarged community: Ijevan (installation of solar panels and modernization of the ventilation system at Ijevan branch of YSU), Acharkut and Khashtarak (installation of an energy-saving street lighting system).

The awareness and capacity building component will cover the entire community and envisages organizing training courses on energy efficiency, green management and renewable energy for community servants, as well as organizing an awareness campaign on the mentioned topics with the involvement of YSU IB students in all settlements of the community.

The expected results of the project include reducing energy consumption, reducing carbon emissions and developing sustainable energy sources in the mentioned settlements.

Ijevan branch of YSU and Ijevan community administration will provide co-financing in the amount of 20% of the amount provided by the LDF. They will also provide comfortable premises and necessary equipment to organize awareness meetings planned under the project, and will provide specialized human resources for the effective implementation of the project activities.

The Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Project has a community significance, which implies that the project results will be equally useful for the entire population of the community. Moreover, the project results will lead to savings of community funds, which will provide an opportunity for the use of additional programs in the community.

The project will promote the green transition, sustainable development and economic stability of the community. It is a combined solution for environmental protection, technological innovation and ensuring quality of life.
