On December 3, 2025, an event dedicated to International Volunteer Day was held at the Faculty of Humanities of YSU IB, with the participation of students of the “English language and Literature” and “Russian language and Literature” educational programs.

The event was organized by Emma Temrazyan, Assistant Professor of the Department of Foreign Languages, Coordinator of Armenian Programs of the “Armenian Volunteer Network” (AMVN) / “Armenian Volunteer Network” organization operating in the USA.

First, it was presented that 40 years ago, in 1985, December 5 was declared International Volunteer Day by the UN for the sake of economic and social development. This decision gave volunteer organizations and volunteers the opportunity to make their efforts and activities at the local, national, and international levels more visible.

It was emphasized that, joining the opportunities provided by the YSU IB partner organization “Armenian Volunteer Network”, more than three dozen students of the branch have provided volunteer service not only to students of other faculties, but also to schoolchildren from their own and other communities of Armenia in this and previous academic years.

Vladimir Poghosyan, Head of YSU IB Library, congratulated the students, in his speech emphasized the importance of their active participation in community life, noting that this contributes to the formation of students as responsible citizens.

Assistant Professor of the Department of Armenian Language and Literature, Ph.D. Siranush Hovhannisyan also made a speech, happily noting that she herself has joined the “Armenian Volunteer Network” educational organization as a volunteer and teaches Armenian to compatriots living outside of Armenia.

At the end of the meeting, Emma Temrazyan presented certificates of appreciation from the “Armenian Volunteer Network” organization to all the volunteers of the branch and once again emphasized that they are doing a patriotic job, giving their compatriots the most valuable thing - their time and knowledge.
