Aspram Hovhannisyan, a 3rd-year student of the “Russian Language and Literature” educational program of the Ijevan branch of YSU, participated in the seminar from Armenia, who presented her observations on the preservation of historical memory, as well as strengthening intercultural cooperation among young people.
The seminar was an integral part of the 2025-2026 Plan of Events aimed at implementing the Strategy for International Youth Cooperation of the USSR Countries for 2021-2030.
It aimed to develop cooperation between young leaders, raise awareness about the Second World War and the Great Patriotic War, as well as counteract the spread of approaches to falsification and distortion of history.
During the event, the participants discussed the challenges of preserving historical memory, exchanged experiences, presented national projects and developed new initiatives aimed at preserving and protecting historical truth throughout the USSR.
A lecture on the topic “Main directions of falsification of the history of the Great Patriotic War in the post-Soviet space and their counteraction” was delivered to the participants by Ya. I. Listov, who is the President of the Independent Historical Society and a member of the relevant expert councils of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation.
Within the framework of the international seminar, the participants also met with Ekaterina Patria, Head of the Academy of the Victory Museum. During the meeting, the educational programs, scientific and youth initiatives of the museum were presented.
A number of presentations were given on the preservation of historical memory and patriotic education (on the activities and programs of Rospatriot Center, the programs and activities of the All-Russian movement “Volunteers of Victory”, the activities of the National Center for Historical Memory under the President of the Russian Federation).
Within the framework of the program, excursions were also organized to a number of Moscow museums and historical and cultural monuments (visits to the Victory Museum, the “Road to Victory” and “People’s Feat” exhibitions, the “Patriotic” central park, the “Road of Memory” museum complex, and the Main Cathedral of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation).
