On December 24 students of the YSU IB “Armenian Language and Literature” educational program participated in the international online conference on neuropsycholinguistics organized by the initiative of the Department of Applied Linguistics of the H. Acharyan Institute of Language of the NAS RA (“International Conference on Problems of Applied Linguistics: Neurolinguistics, Psycholinguistics”). The agenda included 4 neuropsycholinguistic issues: “Applied Linguistics and Modern Technologies: Artificial Intelligence” (Прикладная лингвистика и современные технологии: искусственный интеллект), “Modern Problems of Neurolinguistics: Restoration of Linguistic Thinking through Language Tests” (Актуальные проблемы нейролингвистики: восстановление языкового мышления с помощью языковых тестов), “Predictions of the Development of Psycholinguistics. "Prognosis of the development of psycholinguistics: on the threshold of the second half of the XXI century" (Prognosis of the development of psycholinguistics: on the threshold of the second half of the XXI century), "Field methods in linguistic and interdisciplinary research" (Field methods in linguistic and interdisciplinary research (dialectology, colloquial speech).

On December 21, 2024 the Department of Educational Reforms and Lecturer Training of YSU IB conducted a training on Factors of Organizational Empowerment, which was conducted by Associate Professor of the Department of General Economics of YSU IB, Doctor of Economic Sciences Johnson Aghababayan. About 2 dozen administrative employees of YSU IB participated in the training.

The Artists Union of Armenia recently organized the "Salon 2024" exhibition, which was a unique annual report.

On December 14, a board meeting was held under the chairmanship of A. H. Makaryan at Ijevan branch of YSU.

On December 13, 2024 a lecture on the topic " Mshak newspaper as a source for the study of everyday social processes" was held at the Ijevan branch of YSU, which was led by Vladimir Poghosyan, head of the grant program of the same name, lecturer at the Department of Armenian History and Social Studies. The lecture was attended by members of the administrative staff of YSU IB, lecturers and students.

We are pleased to inform you that the results of the "Best Student" Republican Competition launched in September 2024 have already been summarized, according to which students of the YSU Ijevan branch Sahak Gulakyan and Nazeli Yesayan were recognized as winners in the fields of natural sciences and humanities.

On December 11, 2024 at the “American Library and Training Center” of the YSU IB, students of the “Armenian Language and Literature” educational program participated in an open class-seminar on the topic “Me and My Profession”, which was conducted by the Assistant Professor of the Department of Armenian Language and Literature, candidate of philological sciences Siranush Hovhannisyan.

The 2nd and 4th year students of the YSU IB “Russian Language and Literature” educational program Hasmik Kokobelyan, Haykuhi Kokobelyan, Seda Amirjanyan, Aspram Hovhannisyan, Roza Adamyan and Nazeli Yesayan, , under the scientific supervision of Professor of the Department of Foreign Languages, Svetlana Minasyan, made reports at the international youth conference on the topic “Modern Linguistics in Multidimensional Space: Artificial Intelligence vs. Tradition” organized by the Institute of Foreign Languages of Moscow City University on December 10.

On December 10, 2024 a meeting-discussion was held at the Ijevan branch of YSU with the acting head of the population protection department of the Tavush regional rescue department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Major of the Rescue Service Sargis Markosyan, and the senior instructor of the operational duty shift of the Crisis Management Center Edgar Kamalyan.

December 7 is the Memorial Day of Earthquake Victims and Disaster Resilience. On December 7, 1988, 36 years ago, in the northern regions of the Republic of Armenia, approximately 150 km south of the axis of the main Caucasus mountain range, a devastating earthquake (later called the Spitak earthquake) occurred, which took the lives of tens of thousands of people, caused massive injuries and collapses.
