On April 5th, 2019, first-year students of “Tourism” specialty, Part-time training system of Ijevan Branch of “Yerevan State University” Foundation delivered reports in English on “Places of Interest in Armenia”.

The event was initiated and organized by Anna Karapetyan, PhD, assistant of English Language and Literature Department.

Students accompanied by presentations introduced some of the places of interest in Armenia.

Particularly, they talked about the beautiful Gosh lake near the village of Gosh in Tavush region, the length of which is 100 meters, the width is 80 meters, the maximum depth is 8 meters, and the water temperature in summer reaches only 14 degrees Celsius. It was noted that in this area you can meet different types of monuments, various rock formations, mineral springs, etc.

Lastiver, a paradise, with dense woods, caves, beautiful waterfalls and rivers, was also presented. Lastiver is one of the most favorite places for active leisure, both among the citizens of the country and the tourists. At the caves a marvelous view opens: the waterfalls of Lastiver, which are really considered to be wonders of Nature.
Lastiver Cave is hard to access on a cliff face, and the entrance has been partially protected with an ancient wall. At the river, which has beautiful cascades and rapids, there is a campground built, with amenities.

The students also talked about the monastery of Sevanavank in Gegharkunik region, on the Sevan peninsula, founded in 305, by Gregory the Illuminator.

First-year students of “Tourism” specialty also introduced Lake Sevan and some other interesting places.

They were exceedingly excited and touched, as it was the first time they were delivering reports in English and they expressed desire to participate more frequently in such class activities.
