TRAINING COURSE ON “A VIRTUAL WORK ENVIRONMENT” FOR YSU IJEVAN BRANCH LECTURERS

In the second semester of 2018-2019 academic years, “A Virtual Work Environment” qualification and training course, included in “Information and Communication Technologies” module, is being held at YSU Ijevan Branch, conducted by YSU Ijevan Branch worker Anna Manucharyan.

YSUIB 14 lecturers take part in the training course.

“A Virtual Work Environment” training course aims to introduce listeners to the online Moodle learning system, ways of presenting knowledge in the online domain, and student-student and lecturer-student interaction rules in the virtual domain.

Students entering the system can get complete information about the overall description of the course, the necessary literature, the assigned tasks, and the deadlines for their implementation.

The Moodle system makes it easy for students to work because the individual’s personal work is clearly visible there. In addition, on the platform, students have the opportunity to ask questions to the lecturer and get their answers, organize discussions between each other.

At the end of the course, the lecturers will be able to create different types of learning resources in the online learning system, monitor student work, have the ability to work in an online learning system and design a complete e-learning course.

YSU IJEVAN BRANCH HOSTED A DISCUSSION OF KHACHIK MANUKYAN’S WORKS

 On April 4th, 2019, YSU Ijevan Branch Library hosted a discussion of writer, publicist Khachik Manukyan’s works, conducted by Vladimir Poghosyan, the head of the library. In his speech, he introduced Khachik Manukyan’s literary contribution, his achievements in the literary field.

Poghosyan particularly mentioned: “Khachik Manukyan writer-publicist was born, lived and lives in Echmiadzin and considers Echmiadzin as the center of his world. Since 1991, he is a member of the Union of Writers of the Armenian SSR, since 1992, a member of the Writers’ Union of Armenia. During his many years of literary activity, he received numerous awards, particularly worth mentioning “the Golden Reed” 1999, Avetiq Isahakyan’s literary prize twice laureate and so on. He is the author of many books and collections. In 2016, “Zangak” publishing house published the quartet of Kh. Manukyan’s works. The works of the writer have been translated into English, French, German, Russian, Persian, Georgian, Polish and other languages. Indeed, Khachik Manukyan’s contribution to the formation and development of modern Armenian poetry is considerable. “

Afterwards, Khachik Manukyan’s works were analyzed by Associate Professors of Armenian Language and Literature Department Aida Sahratyan and Alisa Hasanyan. The first volume of the Quartet was analyzed by Gohar Mkhitaryan, 2nd-year student of “Armenian Language and Literature” Department, and Tatevik Ayvazyan, Arpine Baghinyan, Armida Baghyan, pupil Arthur Abazyan read poems.

The attendees had an opportunity to ask questions to Khachik Manukyan.

Primate of Tavush Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church, Bishop Bagrat Galstanyan, delivered a speech, particularly mentioning: “Khachik Manukyan’s blood and pen have the same color: his life and experiences, his feelings and thoughts have always been reflected in his works”.

At the end of the discussion, Acting Director of YSU Ijevan Branch A. V. Tsutsulyan conveyed his gratitude to Khachik Manukyan and hoped that such meetings would be continous.

BOARD MEETING HELD AT YSU IJEVAN BRANCH

On April 4th, 2019, YSU Ijevan Branch hosted Board Meeting headed by YSUIB Acting Director A. V. Tsutsulyan.

On the agenda were the preparatory works for the mid-term and final exams of 2018-19 academic year second semester and current issues. Deans of the faculties reported on preparatory works for mid-term and final exams of 2018-2019 academic years, second semester.

It was noted that according to the schedule of the II semester of 2018-2019 academic year, on April 8-13, 2019, YSU Ijevan Branch would host I mid-term and final examinations of Bachelor’s Full-time training system of the II semester of 2018-19 academic years.

Necessary preparatory works have been carried out to properly conduct exams. Faculties have been provided with handouts for mid-term examinations and exam papers for the tests were sealed. The presented schedules were checked and then a timetable was drawn to carry out the exam process in the classrooms equipped with cameras. A schedule has been created to carry out day-to-day oversight during the exam. The Branch is ready to start the exam period.

Another item of discussion was the issue of YSUIB Part-time training system students’ dismissal due to poor academic performance after first examination period of 2018-2019 academic years, as well as due to unpaid tuition fees. In this regard, it was particularly mentioned that 28 students have accumulated credits and 17 students were subject to dismissal.

 

THE RESULTS OF YSU OLYMPIAD-2019

On April 5th, 2019, the results of the second stage of the annual YSU Olympiad-2019 organized by YSU Pre-university Education Department were summarized. As it is known, this year 2298 pupils took part in YSU- Olympiad.

Let us remind that according to the decision of YSU Academic Council, the first, second and third place winners of the second stage of the Olympiad, enrolled in YSU paid system of education, will receive a 50%, 40% and 30% tuition fees compensation respectively, and those who register good results will be awarded with certificates.
