MEN’S CHESS CHAMPIONSHIP HELD AT YSUIB

On May 25, 2019, YSU Ijevan Branch hosted Men’s Chess Championship, organized by YSUIB Student Scientific Society, particularly with the efforts of 3rd year student of “IAM” Gerasim Alaverdyan and 2nd year student of “IAM” Arayik Shahnazaryan. The referee was Emil Matinyan, coach of the Ijevan Branch of the Armenian Chess Academy.

 

 3 lecturers and 7 students from different professions took a part in the chess championship.

 The championship was held in Swiss mode (5 rounds) and for each game 15 minutes were given.

The game was held in an engaging atmosphere.  2nd year student of the “Cartography and Cadastre” Tigran Gasparyan, third year student of “IAM” Gerasim Alaverdyan and 2nd year student of Part-time training Arthur Gevorgyan collected 4 points each, following blitz  games.

 After collecting equal points, the prize places were determined by the computer.

 Arthur Gevorgyan was recognized the winner and Gerasim Alaverdyan and Tigran Gasparyan took the 2nd and 3rd places respectively.

 The prize winners were awarded with diplomas.

 Arthur Gevorgyan took The Men’s Chess Championship Cup.

 Emil Matinyan was awarded with a letter of appreciation and a gift.

 

SUBMISSION OF DOCUMENTS FOR YSUIB ADMISSION CONTINUES

The first stage of students submission for YSUIB Bachelor’s Admission for 2019-2020 academic year launched on May 6 will end on June 1.

  As of May 26, 141 applicants have been registered at YSUIB.

 Thus applications for the admission to the Bachelor of YSU Ijevan Branch are open with 13 specialties.

  As of May 26, the largest number of applications are in Finance, Tourism, Informatics and Applied Mathematics, and Elementary Pedagogy and Methodology Departments and the least applications are: “Russian Language and Literature”, “Psychology”, “French Language  and literature” Departments.

The Admission Committee is located at Usanoghakan 1 Street, Ijevan, every day at 09: 00-16: 00.

 The deadline for submission of applications is June 1, including 9:00 to 18:00.

 Let us remind that 6 courses on “Journalism” have been included in the “Armenian Language and Literature” curriculum.

 P.S.  The documents of students with the RA dual citizenship and foreigners, foreign educational institutions of the Republic of Armenia, graduates of the  vocational (technical) and secondary specialized educational institutions, who are graduating till July 31, are accepted from June 25 till July 2,  (without weekends).

EMMA SHAHNAZARYAN AND VARSIK ISAKHANYAN, STUDENTS OF “FRENCH LANGUAGE AND LITERATURE” SPECIALTY, RECEIVED SCHOLARSHIPS

  On May 23, 2019, the members of the Armenian-French Friendship and Exchange Organization, Jos Milinere, Philip Dromsen, Laurence Dromsen awarded scholarships to the students of “French Language and Literature”specialty, Emma Shahnazaryan and Varshik Isakhanyan.

 Representatives of the French delegation noted that their organization was satisfied with the research done by the students during one semester owing to which they received scholarships.

 Acting Head of the Department of French Language and Literature of Ijevan Branch of Yerevan State University (YSU) A.Mardanyan introduced the history of the Armenian-French friendship and conveyed her gratitude to the President of the Organization Mrs. Paulet Coutin.

YSUIB Acting Dean of the Faculty of Humanities Karine Poghosyan, Head of Foreign Relations Department Arman Yeganyan conveyed their gratitude to the guests, handing a beautiful gobelin, one of the works of the Faculty of Applied Arts students.

It should be reminded that every year the organization provides scholarships to students studying in a paid system of “French Language and Literature”specialty. This year marks the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Armenian-French Friendship and Exchange Organization. On this occasion, YSUIB lecturers, staff members, municipality representatives and students attended the event.
