WOMEN’S AND GIRLS’ CHESS BRANCH CHAMPIONSHIP

  On May 23, 2019, YSU Ijevan Branch library hosted Women’s and Girls’ Chess Championship.

 7 students from different professions took a part in the championship.

 It was organized by the Student Scientific Society of YSUIB, member  of the SSS,  third-year student of “Informatics and Applied Mathematics” specialty Gerasim Alaverdyan.

 The championship included 6 rounds.

 Sona Virabyan, 1st- year student of “IAM” and Syuzanna Mirzoyan, 3rd-year student of “IAM”, scored equal (5 points each).

 Susanne Mirzoyan became the winner, and Sona Virabyan took the 2nd place.

  2nd-year student of “Elementary Pedagogy and Methodology” Zina Voskanyan took the 3d place.

 The prize winners were awarded with diplomas.

 For the first time, Syuzanna Mirzoyan received the Women’s and Girls’ Chess Championship Cup.

 Gerasim Alaverdyan received a letter of appreciation.

 The member of SSS, a third-year student of “History”, Shirak Gasparyan awarded the winners.

YSUIB HOSTED A SEMINAR ON ACCUMULATIVE PENSION SYSTEM

  On May 22th, 2019, YSU Ijevan Branch hosted a seminar-discussion on accumulative pension system, attended by students and staff of Ijevan Branch of Yerevan State University.

The discussion was conducted by first-year student of “Finance” Ira Vardanyan, 2nd year students of the same specialty Liana Manucharyan and Anush Nazinyan, 3rd year student of “Economics” specialty Liana Khachatryan.

 On May 6 and 7, at the initiative of the SSS, several students of Ijevan Branch of Yerevan State University, as well as several students from Ijevan High School and Ijevan College met with the representatives of Amundi Acba Asset Management and C-Quadrat Ampega Asset Management Armenia accumulative pension system.  During the meetings, each fund introduced its cash assets, the dynamics of the fund’s profitability and its risk, its partners and co-owners, and its own competitive advantages.

The seminar-discussion aimed to share the information received during the meetings among YSUIB students.

 Students presented two funds, as well as clarified some of the stereotypes that people have on accumulative pension funds.

 At the end of the seminar, the participants received answers to questions about its profitability, risk and the essence of the work.

GRADUATION PAPERS DEFENSE OF THE FACULTY OF “APPLIED ARTS” STUDENTS HELD AT YSUIB

  On May 22, 2019, YSU Ijevan Branch hosted the defense of the graduation papers of “Applied Arts” students.

 The final attestation committee was headed by the director of “Teryan” Cultural Center, member of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Lilit Melikyan.

Not only members of the Faculty of Applied Arts, but also members of the Branch administrative and professorial staff, students, parents, guests, art lovers attended the defense.

 According to the tradition, the works had thematic, genre and stylistic diversity.

 The defense took place in a pleasant and engaging atmosphere.

 The final attestation committee evaluated “excellentHovhannes Chobanyan’s (“Herd”, Supervisor Hamlet Asatryan), Arpine Shahnazaryan (Collection, decorative drawing on the piece, Supervisor Anush Chibukhchyan), Ashkhen Melkumyan (“Armenian churches”, miniature art director, Supervisor Lilit Fljyan  ) works.

 The works of Karen Goginyan (“Amberd”, needle tapestry, Supervisor Mher Stepanyan), Narek Ghazaryan (Clock, wood carving, Supervisor Sergey Hovhannisyan), Mary Eganyan (“YSU 100” collage, Supervisor Arevik Khachatryan) were evaluated “good”.

 At the end, representatives of the faculty congratulated the students on getting a Bachelor’s degree, wishing them professional and personal achievements.

MEMBERS OF “ARMENIAN-FRENCH FRIENDSHIP AND EXCHANGE” ORGANISATION DELIVERED LECTURES AT YSUIB

  On May 22, 2019, YSU Ijevan Branch hosted a meeting with members of the Armenian-French Friendship and Exchange Organization, Jose Milinere, Philip Dromsen, and Laurent Dromsen, at the initiative of French Language and Literature Department.

The meeting aimed to deliver a lecture on the recent events in France (Notre Dame Cathedral Fire, yellow vest demonstrations in France, and so on).

 Nvard Andreasyan, adviser of Tavush Region governor, lecturers of the Department of French Language and Literature, students of relevant specialties attended the event.

First and foremost,  Head of Department of French Language and Literature Aida Mardanyan introduced the guests who visited YSU Ijevan Branch to communicate with the students of “French Language and Literature” specialty, award second-term scholarships to students enrolled in paid education system and, in general, for discussing further cooperation issues.

 The lecture was in an engaging and interactive atmosphere.

 The students asked their questions to the guests from France and received exhaustive answers.

 After the meeting, the guests mentioned that they were impressed and surprised by the French language speaking skills of YSUIB students.

STUDENTS OF “HISTORY” SPECIALTY MADE STUDY VISITS WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF 2018-2019 ACADEMIC YEAR INTERNSHIP

  On 20th of May 2019, within the framework of 2018-2019 academic year internship, second and third-year  students of YSUIB “History” specialty made study visits.

 The students were accompanied by the internship supervisor, Lecturer of the Department of Armenian History and Social Sciences A. Mkrtumyan, Head of the History Program, PhD, Associate Professor N. Grigoryan, Assistant Professor A. Azatyan, Head of Department of Professional Orientation and Practice L. Beginyan.

 They visited Vayots Dzor Region, Orbelyans’ hotel, Noravank monastery complex, Khor Virap church complex in Ararat Region.

 The students especially enjoyed Noravank, with its picturesque nature and church, Khor Virap pit, where Grigor Lusavorich was imprisoned for many years.

 During the study visits, the students got acquainted with the above-mentioned historical-cultural sites, its construction and operation history, architectural peculiarities.
